What Gatebold is - and what Gatebold is not.

The French reform distinguishes two categories of players: Approved Platforms, registered by the administration, and Compatible Solutions, on the company side. Confusing the two is the market's first trap.

Gatebold is

  • · A compatible solution for French e-invoicing: a Magento / Adobe Commerce connector and a SaaS platform compatible with the reform requirements (formats, structured data, etc.).
  • · Connected to a state-registered Approved Platform, with an end-to-end validated integration.
  • · Designed to be multi-PA: you connect the Approved Platform of your choice, and can switch later without changing Magento.
  • · Aligned with the EN 16931 semantic model and the AFNOR XP Z12-013 standard for exchanges with the PA.

Gatebold is not

  • · An Approved Platform: Gatebold is not registered with the DGFiP and does not itself transmit your invoices to the administration - that role is reserved for PAs.
  • · Software "approved" or "certified" by the State: no such status exists for software. Beware of vendors claiming it.
  • · A producer of regulatory formats: Factur-X, UBL and CII are produced by your PA, from the compliant data Gatebold transmits to it.

End-to-end validated API integration: invoices issued from Magento are normalized, validated and submitted to the Approved Platform, which accepts them and produces the regulatory format.

Invoice lifecycle statuses (deposited, rejected, paid, etc.) are received in real time from the PA through signed webhooks, and surfaced all the way to your Magento Sales grid.

What does the "Solution compatible facturation électronique" logotype mean?
It is the official logotype created by the French tax administration (DGFiP) to identify software compatible with the requirements of the French e-invoicing reform. Its use is reserved for solutions that meet two conditions: being compatible with the formats imposed by the reform for the features they provide, and being connected to at least one state-registered Approved Platform (Plateforme Agréée). Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway meets both conditions.
Is Gatebold approved or certified by the French State?
No - and no software can be: there is no DGFiP "approval" or "certification" for software. Only platforms are registered by the administration - these are the Approved Platforms (Plateformes Agréées). Gatebold is a Compatible Solution in the DGFiP nomenclature: software compatible with the reform formats, connected to a state-registered Approved Platform which, in turn, produces the regulatory format and handles the legal transmission.
Which Approved Platform is Gatebold connected to?
Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway is connected to a state-registered Approved Platform, with an end-to-end validated integration: invoices accepted by the PA and the DGFiP lifecycle received in real time. The solution is designed to be multi-PA: you connect the Approved Platform of your choice from the official list published on impots.gouv.fr, and if yours is not covered yet, we build the connection as part of your project.
Can I keep my current Approved Platform?
Yes. Gatebold does not impose any Approved Platform: you remain free to choose your PA provider and can switch later without touching your Magento. If your PA is not yet connected to Gatebold, the connection is handled as part of your project.
Who produces the regulatory format (Factur-X, UBL, CII)?
Your Approved Platform. Gatebold extracts your Magento invoices, normalizes them against the European EN 16931 semantic model, validates the data (SIREN/SIRET, VAT, totals consistency, etc.) and transmits them to the PA through an API aligned with the AFNOR XP Z12-013 standard. The PA, registered with the DGFiP, produces the regulatory format and delivers it to the recipient.
What are the deadlines of the French reform?
From September 1, 2026, every company subject to VAT in France must be able to receive electronic invoices through an Approved Platform, and large companies and mid-caps must start issuing them. From September 1, 2027, the issuing obligation extends to all SMEs and micro-enterprises.
